Admission and Transition

Ilkley Grammar School is popular and oversubscribed. Admission into Year 7 is via Bradford Metropolitan District Council (BMDC), who still run our admission procedures even though we are an Academy.

Transition Events

Dear Parents/Carers

The PTA holds a Meet & Mingle event in September because we discovered that we were clashing with a number of primary school events in July and felt that there was already so much going on for parents and students alike!

We will advise the date in due course. The event usually takes place from 7.30 to 9.00pm in the IGS School Library. This will be an event for parents only and we hope will be an opportunity for Year 7 parents to meet the PTA committee, find out a bit more about the PTA and meet other Year 7 parents. We intend that there will be teacher representation at the event too.

We look forward to meeting you.

Should you wish to contact the PTA in the meantime, please e-mail us at PTA@ilkleygs.co.uk.

Many thanks!

Jane Wearing, PTA Chair

IGS PTA: For Year 6 students - update on the new PTA Facebook group

An IGS parent recently suggested that it would be great to be able to buy and sell second hand school uniform, sports’ gear, etc. So, IGS PTA has set up a Facebook group for this very purpose. Search for ‘IGS marketplace’ in groups with Ilkley as a location filter, and you should be able to find it. It is a closed group, so please ask to join, and once accepted you can use the group to sell and buy uniform and sports’ clothing and equipment. As the aim is to also try to raise funds for the PTA, we ask sellers to make a contribution to the PTA of at least 50% of the selling price.

We are currently raising funds to refurbish the school sports pavilion which is in dire need of some TLC.

Many thanks!

Jane Wearing, PTA Chair.
