The PTA met on Monday 28th June and we were pleased to hear that Mr Adams, the recently appointed ‘Mental Health Champion’, had now undertaken his accredited training. He is now keen to share his learning with staff and students in the months to come.
A further update on the DT initiative was that orders had been placed for six new 3D printers, five new projectors and a reconditioned laser cutter. Together with improvements already made to the twenty-six desktop computers that the department use, this will mark a significant enhancement to the students’ learning experience in this area of school.
In the hope that things will start to look a bit more like normal by the new academic year, the PTA is also starting to make plans for face to face fundraising events in 2021/2022. We are hoping to run:
- A wine tasting evening in November;
- A 'Quiz & Curry' night in March;
- Car boot sales and
- The 'Auction of Promises' in the Spring/Summer.
- A 'Colour Run' in June
For our ambitious plans to organise a 'Colour Run' event in June we are going to need lots of volunteers and sponsors. If you are interested in helping with the event, or if you would like to know more about sponsorship opportunities, please e-mail us at PTA@ilkleygs.co.uk
In the meantime, we continue to have available our online fundraising opportunities.
- You can make a direct donation to the PTA via our GoFundMe page.
Alternatively, you might like to support our other virtual fundraising options:
Please see our PTA page here for more information.
Finally, a reminder that now is the time to sell any unwanted school uniform via the IGS Uniform Marketplace page on Facebook.
Answer the membership questions to join and get selling here.
We are always keen to have more people on board to help and support our activities, so if you’d like to get involved with the PTA, please do contact us – we’d be delighted to have you on board! Please contact us at any time via email at PTA@ilkleygs.co.uk.
