NEXT STEPS WEEK: PART I

Monday 19th - Friday 23rd June

This week the usual timetable will be collapsed to provide full focus on helping students to identify and be prepared for their journey after IGS. Part one consists of sessions for all Year 12 on preparation for their Next Steps. The sessions will cover both apprenticeship and university pathways with presenters from IGS staff, universities, apprenticeship providers, employers, IGS alumni, and more.

Trip to Newcastle: Thursday 22 June

UCAS Discovery Exhibition, Utilita Arena Newcastle

This exhibition brings together experts to help students shortlist their options under one roof. Students will be able to:

  • Meet over 100 universities, colleges, and apprenticeship employers face-to-face
  • Find out about different options and pathways
  • Listen to live expert talks
  • Get the latest advice and information on different career choices.

Parents' Information Evening: Wednesday 21 June 19:00 - 20:00

Applying to Higher Education - Prof. Abigail Harrison-Moore: Leeds University

A session aimed at both parents and students on what to consider when deciding on university applications and how to make your application the best it can be from an expert on applications from the university viewpoint. This is an engaging and thought-provoking presentation that is vital for anyone thinking that they might be interested in university.
