IGS provides venue hire/facilities to many local clubs and organisations on week day evenings, weekends and school holidays. Please take a look below at the variety of activities on offer and scroll down for more information.
Please note: IGS has no further association with external hirers beyond letting our facilities. For any information regarding credentials and safeguarding measures, including DBS checks, you must refer to the club or organisation directly.

Aeromodellers
Wharfedale Aeromodellers Flying Club
Our club is over 50 years old and encourages all forms of aeromodelling but we only have facilities for control line flying. We are affiliated to the British Model Flying Association (B.M.F.A.) and conform to their Child and Vunerable Adult Policy.
All are invited to visit us on our club night or at our Ilkley flying site. Children under eighteen and vulnerable adults must be acompanied by two parents, guardians or carers.

Junior Ilkley Harriers is the junior section of Ilkley Harriers AC and provides training, racing, and social activities for young athletes. The Club colours are red and green. The majority of our sessions have waiting lists so please do not turn up on the night to any session and contact Shirley beforehand with any enquiries at shirley@ilkleyharriers.org.uk

Ilkley Badminton Coaching
Junior badminton coaching for beginners and developing players. Run by Badminton England coaches and linked into Yorkshire junior badminton network. Rackets and shuttles provided. A fun way to learn how to play badminton.

Social Badminton
Social Badminton Ilkley is for all ages and abilities looking to play badminton for fun and exercise. This is a non-membership club and is for people that would like to play as and when they can. This is a not a competitive club and is aimed at people that enjoy playing badminton and would like to get some regular exercise. Social Badminton has been set up due to the lack of general badminton clubs in the area. Other clubs require memberships and can be known to take the game a little bit too seriously. Social Badminton Ilkley can be used as a progression club for people that may want to join a club/league in the future but may need to improve their game and brush off the cobwebs. Social Badminton Ilkley is for fun and exercise, all are welcome. “This is a great non-competitive badminton club that welcomes everyone. Social Badminton Ilkley is all about playing badminton for fun and exercise. The pay as you play model makes it a very good option for people that are unable to commit to playing every week.”

Cricket
Ben Rhydding Cricket Club
Founded in 1921, Ben Rhydding Cricket Club is a thriving part of the local Ben Rhydding and Ilkley community, offering cricket to all ages, sexes and abilities.
The 1st and 2nd XI play in the Theakston Nidderdale and District Amateur Cricket League. Our junior section has four age groups, with our ECB level 2 qualified coaches working with all members. We're also developing specific girls teams having competed in some girls tournaments at under 9's. We are close to completing an under 13's team.

Ilkley Cricket Club
Established in 1850 Ilkley Cricket Club is a founding member of the Airedale & Wharfedale Senior Cricket League. Today the club brings cricket to the whole community, hosting three senior men's, two lady's and five junior teams. Playing everyday throughout the summer if the British weather permits. If you're interested in yourself or one of your children playing then don't hesitate to get in touch, we welcome players of all ages, gender and ability!

Ilkley Harriers - Circuit Training
Ilkley Harriers is a friendly running club based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire. We welcome runners of all abilities and running interests and the club provides training and group runs as well as social events for members. Ilkley Harriers compete in a whole range of running events and our Club League encourages friendly competition between members. The Club organises races too. Interested in joining us?
Whilst these sessions are geared towards runners, they are suitable for all those wanting to achieve a general strength and conditioning fitness level for a broad cross section of abilities.

RAF Air Cadets

Ilkley Town AFC is a Charter Standard Community Football Club with three senior teams, an under 21's & Academy team.

Gymnastics
Ilkley Gym Club
Providing gymnastics to boys and girls aged 5-18, specialising in Acrobatic Gymnastics. We offer many recreational classes for gymnasts attending sessions once a week. Children are usually split into age appropriate groups and we run a boys-only mixed aged class.All of our sessions are run by qualified British Gymnastics coaches, providing knowledge and experience.
During classes we work on a variety of gymnastics skills, towards British Gymnastics awards and club events. Recreational classes are held on a Wednesday evening and Saturday morning during term time. We also run a number of invitational competitive classes. Fees are usually collected termly and charged at £6 for the hours class.

Music Group
BMDC Ilkley Music Centre
The Music Service provides a range of music group opportunities for children from all parts of the district to participate in bands and orchestras of various standards. Being a member of a music group provides a wide range of opportunities for students of all ages and standards, from beginner upwards, to develop musicianship and playing skills. For most people, music has its greatest impact when played with others. Concert performances are the goal of most of our music groups and are valuable experiences in their own right. We try to ensure that each of our music groups has regular performance opportunities.
Participation in these music groups promotes a feeling of team work and encourages a sense of responsibility.

Sotheby Swim School
The swim school has been teaching children's swimming lessons at Ilkley Grammar School since 1998.
We offer parent and child swimming classes (from age 6 months to 4 years old) and children's learn to swim classes (for complete beginners to bronze, silver and gold Challenge awards). We continually assess children to encourage progress through the swim awards.
Swim teacher, Eddie and Julie Sotheby, are trained, registered and insured with the institute of swimming teachers (www.swimming.org). Eddie is an advanced swimming teacher and registered Fellow of the Institute of Swimming Teachers.
