Admissions

Ilkley Grammar School is popular and oversubscribed. Admission into Year 7 is via Bradford Metropolitan District Council (BMDC), who still run our admission procedures even though we are an Academy.

YEAR 6 - 7 OPEN DAY

Wednesday 7th October 2026

Our next Open Day and Evening will take place on 7th October 2026, providing the opportunity to see the school in action during the morning from 9.10am to 10.40am where current students led guided tours.

In the evening, the main school will be open from 6pm to 8pm with presentations from the Headteacher starting at 5.15pm.

Representatives of Bradford Council will be available on the night to clarify or discuss any questions around admissions to IGS for the coming September; although we are an Academy, we continue to enlist Bradford to administer our admissions. If you have any additional questions about our admissions process, please reach out to admin@igs.mlt.co.uk.

    Moorlands Learning Trust

    About our trust

    Moorlands Learning Trust was formed on 1 July 2017 when Ilkley Grammar School converted from a single academy trust to a multi-academy trust. The Skipton Academy became our first partner academy in 2019, followed by the addition of Ashlands Primary School, Burley Oaks Primary School, Eastburn Primary School, Menston Primary School and Nidderdale High School during 2023/24. In 2025, Benton Park School and Talbot Primary School became our first schools in Leeds to join the Trust. On 1 September 2026, Ben Rhydding Primary School joined as our tenth school, further strengthening our family of schools across West and North Yorkshire.
