EX-STUDENT'S 'SIR TOM' PAINTING TO BE AUCTIONED FOR CHARITY

An ex-IGS student, Darcey Charlesworth, is auctioning a painting she has produced during lockdown of 'Sir Tom Moore' to raise funds for the Bradford Food Bank charity.

IMG_7515The auction is to be held today on Monday 18th January 2021.

Please see Darcey's message below:

My name is Darcey Charlesworth, I am a 19-year-old student from Menston. I studied art throughout my time at Ilkley Grammar School, before I left in 2019 to study Fashion Buying and Merchandising at The Manchester Fashion Institute at Manchester Metropolitan University.

I have always enjoyed painting and lockdown has given me time to rediscover this hobby instead of watching Netflix. When mum brought home Sir Captain Tom Moore’s GQ cover I was inspired by the patriotic picture and decided to recreate it on a large scale. I chose to support the local Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank to show appreciation for the service they provide to vulnerable people at this time of need.

The 60cm x 46cm painting will be sold in an online auction and the proceeds will be donated to Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank. The auction will open on the 18th of January and bidders will be able to make offers through the link that will be released on the Facebook Fundraiser Page.

Good Luck Darcey! We are vey proud of your efforts!
