FIVE IGS BOYS SELECTED FOR BRADFORD SCHOOLS FOOTBALL TEAM

A number of boys from Ilkley Grammar School participated in trials for the Bradford M.D. Schools F.A. and a total of five boys from IGS have been selected for the initial squad of sixteen.

Lee Walker, the Secretary for Bradford Schools F.A. said in a letter informing the school, "On a side note I believe it is unprecedented for 5 boys from one School to be selected for one year group team...certainly in recent years."

In an email to the headteacher the boys new manager, Jason Longley wrote "Having met the boys at the recent trial I have to say what a fantastic group of boys they were, both from a personal & football perspective."

This is excellent news to celebrate with Year 8 and we are extremely proud of the boys efforts. Incredibly well done to James L, Bobby S, Charlie L, Will B & Harry M. 

Home games are based from Fields Sports Club in Bradford. The first game of the season is on Saturday 10th October 2020.
