KEY POST-16 ADMISSIONS INFORMATION

Application Procedure for September 2026 Entry
Open Evening: Open Evening will be held between 6pm and 8pm on Wednesday 12th November 2025 for prospective students and their parents/carers. - Taster Day: All interested students will then be invited to a “Taster Day” which is to be held on Thursday 22nd January 2026.
-
Application: When applications open there is an online form to complete, which can be found on our website. Our application system will ask 'new to IGS' students to create an account and IGS students will receive their account by email. You are able to start, save and return to your application at a later date to make changes before you submit your full application. Your account will be our main way of communicating with you and will remain a key part of your application until enrolment in August 2025.
The closing date for receipt of applications for the academic year 2025-26 is Tuesday 3rd February 2026. All applications must be submitted before the application closing date to be guaranteed for consideration.
Interview: All applicants will be invited to an interview to discuss their application from 11th - 13th February 2026 and to receive guidance on eligibility for particular courses. For current IGS students this will be based on the student’s predicted grades and Year 11 mock examination results. Students who would be new to IGS will be asked for evidence of their predicted grades at GCSE. - Transition day: All students with offers will be brought in on Tuesday 23rd June 2026 to start their Post-16 journey the day after GCSE exams are completed. This includes the personal development ‘freshers fair’ where students sign up to the iLeader groups for Year 12.
-
Results and Enrolment Day: Thursday 20th August 2026, please make sure you are available to complete your enrolment in person on results day. We request that students are able to attend in person on this day. Please keep this in mind when booking holidays.
