PTA UPDATE

Happy New Year to everyone! We hope your young people are settling back into school life after an interesting Christmas break for many of us.

The PTA held its first meeting of 2022 on Wednesday 5th January via Zoom with the meeting mostly concentrated on how to continue to raise money through fundraising events within the current climate.

In terms of fundraising events this coming year, we have previously reported that we had plans to hold face-to-face events if at all possible. It was with disappointment that we had to postpone the wine tasting evening scheduled for Friday 12th November due to Covid, and sadly we have had to make the decision to postpone again. We had planned to run the event on 4th February, but the surge in Covid cases and general uncertainty makes it impossible. We have therefore re-scheduled the Wine Tasting to Friday 25th March 2022. We really hope we’ll be able to run the event at that time.

We have therefore had to also re-schedule our annual Quiz & Curry night, which had been scheduled for Friday 25th March 2022. The Quiz & Curry is now planned for Friday 6th May 2022.

3 Easy Ways 13 Easy Ways 23 Easy Ways 3Please make a note of these dates in your diaries and watch this space for further details. Let’s keep everything crossed for these dates.

Given the continued delays with face-to-face fundraising, we’d like to encourage you to support the PTA by registering with our online fundraising options: Your School Lottery, easyfundraising and Amazon smile. Please see our PTA page here for more information.

We have also set up a new GoFundMe appeal for 2022, as we are aiming to support continued mental health/wellbeing training for staff and students, fund our annual PTA Bursary and support the Creative Arts within school. Please visit our new GoFundMe page here for more information and we thank you for your support.

Finally, the PTA have agreed to help with refreshments at an Orienteering event taking place on Sunday 20th February, for which the school building is being used as the base for the event. We are a bit short on helpers, so if you are free for some of that day to make tea and bacon sandwiches, please let us know.

If you are not already on our mailing list and would be interested in attending our meetings, please email us at PTA@ilkleygs.co.uk. Or if you have any other queries about the PTA or simply would like to get in touch, please do so at the same e-mail address.
