Ilkley Grammar School - Planning for Our Future
We are pleased to inform you that to inform you that our recent planning application for the School Rebuilding Programme has been approved by Bradford Council.
We are extremely pleased with the outcome of this and excited for what the future holds for our outstanding school. We know that this improvement to the school buildings will provide an enhanced environment and facilities for all students, staff and the wider community.
Some of the current buildings at Ilkley Grammar School are in a poor condition and are approaching the end of their useable life span. Therefore, as part of the national School Rebuilding Programme, the Department for Education has tasked Bowmer + Kirkland with developing a scheme that addresses building condition in order to better accommodate students, staff and the community, achieve net zero carbon in operation for new buildings and provide improved facilities.
It is expected that there will be some pre-works happening over the Spring half term break, with the main body of the building work commencing during the summer. The various phases will take us up to a completion date during Autumn 2028. We are still unclear as to the finer details of the phasing however we will aim to keep you in the loop at every stage.
