YEAR 12 WORK EXPERIENCE
Back in September our Year 12 Work Experience groups were looking forward to getting out and about in the community experiencing life in the workplace…then Covid really stopped them in their tracks!
Instead of giving up and giving in to the restrictions of the pandemic, everyone embarked on a year of careers based work experience with Digital Advantage. Despite Covid they have developed their own brand with resources to help them, and other young people at IGS, to research career options.
They have embraced learning new digital skills including;
- Website design
The students have each researched various careers making a fact file for others to refer to on our own website. We cover areas as diverse as forensic psychologist to electrician to fashion designer. Students have interviewed people currently working in the field they aspire to be in and then edited and published the interview as a podcast! Again all available to listen to on our website. Year 12 Work Experience students have all been challenged throughout the last few months and have definitely risen to the occasion!
We want to thank all those people who have contributed to the material on this website and given their time so generously, and to our students who have been so adaptable and resilient throughout this academic year - they have produced a fantastic body of work and I am very proud of them all.
