Aviation College STEM morning
Careers Department
On Friday 19th AprilĀ a group of year 11 students attended a STEM morning at the Craven Aviation College. Students received a tour around the facilities that are based in a hanger by Leeds Bradford Airport.
Students worked through time zones, and Newtons third law finishing with a paper airplane competition. Students looked at the importance of weather when flying making an anemometer and standing in the typical British weather watching an airplane take off. Students were tested on their knowledge of different airplane models where all students learnt new knowledge.
Students were lucky enough to use the facilities where they simulated travelling in a plane and practiced the brace position.
It was a fantastic opportunity for students to gain an insight into aviation and be able to experience a further education setting.
