RELATIONSHIPS, EXPECTATIONS & DRESS CODE
We have high expectations for student conduct in Post 16 and expect students to take responsibility for their learning and role model to younger students. As a result, behaviour issues are rare in a post-16 context as students have chosen to study here.
We use the ClassCharts system that is used in main school and the school Relationships Policy been adapted for the post-16 context.
With incidents of poor behaviour in post-16 it is usually the case that staff will attempt to discuss the rationale for a given sanction before putting one in place for a post-16 student. In the very rare instance of more serious behaviour or infringements the whole-school policy will be used.
The Post-16 professional dress code seeks to achieve a balance between the understandable desire for greater self-expression amongst post-16 students and the fact that our setting is blended with lower school where a uniform is worn. This requires a degree of compromise from students who are role models to students in lower school.
