Could I just say that IGS teachers are amazing and always go the extra mile.

They’ve always reacted quickly and compassionately to my {daughter} if ever we’ve needed anything which thankfully so far hasn’t been so often.

I’d just like to say that your support from the admin team echoes the above. Nothing seems too much trouble which as a parent is very reassuring. Thank you very much.

Many thanks Emma, have a lovely weekend.

Sincerely

Year 10 parent

Dear Ms Purnell,

I want to extend my appreciation and say thank you, to you and your team for the warmth you showed to our staff and clients who attended the trip to Ilkley Grammar on 7th October 2023.

I have heard wonderful feedback about the day and in particular, the art activities, walk on the moors and humble approach from those who put so much work in to make it all happen.  Days like this are rare for the families we work with and offer much needed respite from the challenges of day to day life in the Asylum Process, especially when they are coordinated with such attention to detail and human kindness.

We are grateful to you all.

Very best wishes,

Safeguarding Policy and Practice Manager

Subject: Open Evening - Wednesday 4 October:

Good afternoon

After visiting your school on Wednesday evening, I feel compelled to send you a brief email to convey our experience.

We, my wife, and I with our daughter, had contacted you in advance because my wife is a wheelchair user so wanted to be sure we would be able to have access to look around.

It was very clear that care, thought and preparation had gone into our visit. We were told where we could park, the member of staff we saw on arrival was aware we were coming and seats had been reserved in the main hall so we could sit together, with a wheelchair space.

After the Headteacher’s presentation, two Year 9 pupils had been assigned to give us a tour. They were delightful, very engaging, warm and friendly towards us  and had obviously been shown in advance how to use the lifts. They really helped to make the whole experience informative and enjoyable. Even small details had been thought about, they had been provided with a torch and a member of staff caught up with us a couple of times to see how we were getting on.

Please, if you could pass on our thanks to them it would be appreciated, they were wonderful ambassadors and a credit to the school.

We hope to have the opportunity to visit again if {our daughter} is selected to attend next September.

Warmest regards

Prospective Parent

Good Morning,

I caught the number 62 bus home on Friday.

I was proud to see how many IGS students were being patient, kind and respectful.

The bus was very busy due to delays.

Students stood up and moved to allow elderly passengers and disabled passengers to be able to sit down and be safe during their journey.

All students were quiet, well behaved and kind.

Well done.

Proud of them all.

Kind Regards

IGS staff colleague

Dear Mrs Purnell,

We would like to pass on a huge well done to the team of staff and the students who put together the Battle of the Bands concert last week. What a wonderful spectacle for the school, you must be proud. It is inspiring for the next generation starting (or coming) to your school. Please pass on to the staff involved, as we appreciate these things take time and patience!

Kind regards

In response to the e-mail sent this morning regarding Year 11 Mock examinations, I would like to feedback that the whole process as a parent of a Year 11 child has felt calm, organised and very well managed. My son has known the expectations and this has allowed him to revise and sit his examinations without un-due stress or panic. Many thanks for ensuring this is the case.

Best wishes

Hello,

We wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to the fantastic PE team who took our daughter to Suffolk this weekend as part of the cross country finals. She had an amazing time, was looked after incredibly well and came back really motivated and happy. We appreciate the staff do this in their own time and we're so grateful to them for their commitment and nurturing of the running team - first class.

Thank you again

Subject: Year 13 Presentation Evening

Dear Gill

Please do pass on my thanks to Carly and the team for hosting such a brilliant evening. I go to a lot of these - and I can tell you it was such a pleasure to be at this event - I could see and feel the care and attention to detail that your staff poured into every citation. So thoughtful. The evening was a joy and I know both students and parents will be very grateful to you for it and for the years they have spent under your tutelage.

We have special set of young people in this town, you, and a very special school to sit alongside them. What a fantastic collaborative team you are!

Anything I or the Council can do to help you continue your brilliant work please do let me know.

Very Best Wishes

Councillor K. Milner, Ilkley Town Mayor

Dear All,

I am writing this email to say thank you for being amazing teachers. I really appreciate your support and guidance throughout my time at IGS. I was overwhelmed to receive the Kathleen Hewitt Edwards award at the presentation evening; thank you so much for thinking of me, I am so grateful.

I am looking forward to studying Chemistry at the University of Bradford in September this year, and I am hoping to join their drama society.

Could you also please forward this email to Mrs Purnell, Mrs Batch and Mrs Jordan since I do not have their email addresses.

I will keep you posted on my educational endeavours.

With my best wishes to you all,

Former IGS student

Subject: Year 13 Presentation Eve - thank you

Just wanted to say how well I thought the Presentation Night ran last week.

It must take a great degree of planning and hard work to ensure it moves so smoothly and I understand you take a large role in that - you were name checked by Mr G on the night!

I was sitting with the town's major, Cllr Milner. It was the first time he had attended and we both agreed it had been a thoroughly enjoyable evening with hard work, determination and success well celebrated.

Please do pass on my comments and good wishes for further success in the 2023/4 academic year to Carly and the team.

Kind Regards

Samantha Hill
