The Year 12's Product Design students are currently undergoing a practice NEA, where they are working with JCarey Design on a one sheet challenge where they will be manufacturing a piece of furniture of their choice which is backed up with research that they have done over this project. At this point, the students are currently at the designing stage for their products, so to help them with ideas and manufacturing ideas they have taken a trip to IKEA, Leeds. On this trip each student went around looking at existing products in the area that they are focusing on, taking pictures of the products they want to take inspiration from, certain features and looking at other aspects of the products that will help them on their way of this project.
These students were given their freedom to browse IKEA, splitting their time between looking at the products, buying things that they wanted and also got the joys of the café, where many of the students enjoyed the classic IKEA Swedish meatballs.
