MATHS: SPARX SUCCESS!

Earlier this year, we changed the homework platform used by students every week in Maths. As we now near the end of term, it is clear to see the incredibly positive impact that this change is having on our students. Sparx Maths, the new online platform, provides students with a completely personalised homework experience. It learns more about our students every week and, as time passes, the algorithm in the background works to tailor learning to suit the needs and confidence of each student.

Sparx Maths has been backed by lots of research over a number of years, with clear evidence that it improves students' confidence in mathematics as well as just their results. Over the last few months, we have successfully introduced and embedded Sparx Maths as part of the weekly routine for every student in Years 7 - 9. We have seen 207,948 questions correctly answered by our students in total, with 4415 hours of personalised practice completed on the Sparx Maths platform.

Since we moved onto Sparx Maths, we have seen a 447% increase in the average number of questions that students are answering correctly, with students correctly answering an average of 161 more questions on Sparx Maths compared to this same time period last year.

Special mention needs to go to the students who have collected the highest number of XP points on the Sparx Maths platform for their respective year groups. A massive well done to Tom M (Y7), Jasmine B (Y7), Patrick K (Y8), Elsa I (Y8), Sam B (Y9) and Isabelle A (Y9).
