School Production Residential

15-17th November 2021

Sixty-six students and six members of staff went to Ingleborough Hall for a two-day residential to rehearse next year's school production of 'We Will Rock You' which will be on from 14th -17th February 2022.

The actors, singers, dancers, musicians, assistant directors and backstagers were involved in rehearsals which ran well into the evening.

The students worked hard and were a real credit to the school as they worked as a Company to bring sections of the show together.

The residential culminated in a 'Movie Evening' which was organised by Mia and Francesca (Y13) where the students watched 'Bohemian Rhapsody' whilst singing the songs with their hot chocolates and pop corn. They then did a Conga around the Hall (lead by Miss Stephens) and finally were ushered to bed up the grand staircase by the Y13's singing 'So Long Farewell' - a firm residential tradition!

It was a tiring but very enjoyable residential.

Well done WWRY Team. Keep Rocking!

Student Testimonials

"The Ingleborough residential provided a challenging but enjoyable way to rehearse as a group and develop my skills. As a novice at acting, I found that the fast-paced environment greatly improved my confidence at singing and dancing on stage, while also allowing me to make friends with new people." Joe DS | Actor

"When I got there, everyone was so excited. I had an amazing time - singing and acting alongside everyone else was an awesome experience and I made lots of friends. There wasn’t a moment where I wasn’t laughing or singing or acting or just having a good time. Being able to watch the older years act was really inspirational because I could see what kinds of things I could do in the future in drama and singing. I’m so happy that I auditioned because I have had the best time. I’ll definitely audition next year!" Edith E | Actor

"Going on the residential was a real experience that I will never forget. I had the honour of working with a fantastically talented team of performers and musicians who, like me, all want to strive to make this the best school production we have done yet. It is a fantastic opportunity to get to know the cast and generally, have a good time. I would 100 percent recommend the residential to anyone who is considering being in the next school productions” George P | Backstager

"When we arrived I was quite excited but nervous because I didn't really know what to expect. But when we were rehearsing it was really fun and I learnt a lot. We were busy all the time and weren't sitting around being bored, The teachers engaged everybody to join in."  Esme H | Dancer

"Going to Ingleborough as a member of the band is such a great experience. We spent the first day rehearsing just as a band and with some of the lead singers and then we spent the second day rehearsing with the whole cast. Being able to see how the music fits with the rest of the show and how it all comes together is really exciting." Emily S | Musician

"My experience as assistant director was a very positive one. This experience helped me develop many skills such as my confidence and interests in directing. This experience also allowed me to develop new friendships while still remaining learning and directing." Holly R | Assistant Director
