YEAR 10: MOCK INTERVIEWS

This week we held our annual Year 10 mock interviews, where employers and businesspeople gave up their time to conduct a virtual mock interview.
Over 300 Year 10 students stepped up brilliantly to this new experience which forms part of their World of Work programme sitting within the Next Steps and Careers curriculum.
The interviews allowed students to get a taste of what it would be like to be in an interview with someone they had not met before and prepare them for the recruitment process in the real world. We have received amazing feedback with some students even being offered work experience as a result of their interview.
To ensure all students were prepared for this opportunity many staff were involved. Tutors worked hard in PBTs to deliver resources around mock applications and covering emails. The careers team spent time networking with employers, organising and scheduling interviews and liaising with IT support to ensure that technology worked across the three days. We can also not forget the great job done by our fantastic volunteer interviewers.
It truly was a team effort and we feel students gained an enriching and relevant interview experience. Year 10 will now finish their World of Work module by completing a work experience placement from 17th July during C&C week.
