KEY INFORMATION

Who is it for?

The event is open to almost everyone! You can take part with your friends, your children and family, your work mates, your neighbours or come and meet some new people! If you can run, jog, walk or stroll the non-competitive lapped fun run, you can do The Colour Rush! It’s colour fun for everyone!

Due to the nature of the event, we have decided that children must be over 5 years old to take part.

Children aged 5-11 must be accompanied at the event at all times by a parent, legal guardian, or a responsible adult aged 18 or over (“the responsible adult”). The responsible adult can supervise a maximum of 5 children. Please note that for children under the age of 8 the responsible adult must also be a registered participant in the event at the same start time.

Children aged 11-17 (of secondary school age) may attend the event unaccompanied, but tickets must be bought by a responsible adult who, by doing so, is agreeing to the terms and conditions of the Colour Rush (the “Terms and Conditions”). Please note that although event marshals will be present at the event, they cannot be regarded as supervising adults in relation to participants in this age group.

All participants in the Colour Rush do so at their own risk and need to have read and agreed to the Terms and Conditions before participating in the event.

Non-refundable Entrance Fee

We are sorry but your place is non-transferable and non-refundable. Please do not swap your place with anyone else if you are not able to attend.

Cancellation

In the unfortunate situation that we must cancel the event, we will update The Ilkley Colour Rush pages on the Ilkley Grammar School website as soon as possible. We will notify ticket holders by email.

We will endeavour to arrange a replacement event and tickets will be transferable to the new date.

Photography/video footage

We love photos! There will be one or more official photographers stationed along the course to capture the Colour Rush. The photos will be posted on The Ilkley Colour Rush page on the Ilkley Grammar School website www.ilkleygrammarschool.com/parents/pta/colour rush and on Facebook Ilkley Grammar School PTA after each event. We also plan to take video footage of the event. All pictures or video footage of participants, captured by the photographers/videographers, may be used for promotional purposes.

Health and Safety

What is in the paint?

Our Corn-starch paint is non-flammable, non-toxic to the environment and humans, easy to clean and made from natural ingredients (corn starch powder using fruit-based colours).

Although all the ingredients in the coloured powder we use are non-toxic, and the manufacturers state they are 100% safe and natural, they might still cause an allergic reaction to those who have asthma, allergies to cornstarch or are sensitive to dust. If you do have breathing difficulties, we recommend you also wear a bandana or face mask over your mouth. All ingredients used are permitted in the food and cosmetic industry.

Our paint team do not throw paint at your face or head, but you will inevitably get some paint on your head/face. Runners who are not so keen to be in the direct firing line of our paint team are recommended to stick to the inside of the running lane to receive the least amount of paint and the outside lanes for maximum explosions of the rainbow!

Health Issues

If you have any health concerns, we recommend you consult your doctor before entering The Ilkley Colour Rush.  Although our mission is to make the race as safe as possible to every participant, there is always the possibility of unforeseeable incidents (such as falling or bumping into another person).

Pregnancy

If you are pregnant, we recommend you consult your doctor before entering The Ilkley Colour Rush.  Although our mission is to make the race as safe as possible to every participant, there is always the possibility of unforeseeable incidents (such as falling or bumping into another person).

Weather – what happens if it rains?

We are aiming for The Ilkley Colour Rush to go ahead whatever the weather, rain or shine, unless it is unsafe to do so. If the weather is forecast to be hot, you can take it slowly and we will have water available during the race to keep runners hydrated!

Food and Drink

We are excited to let you know that we will have a variety of yummy things to eat from tuck-shop snacks to ice-creams and a selection of drinks available. We will also have a designated picnic area (paint free zone) where families can chill out away from the paint party and enjoy our yummy treats or bring your own picnic.

Alcohol

We politely ask that you do not bring alcohol to the event.
