Years 7-11 Students

YEAR 12 GEOGRAPHY

CRANEDALE RESIDENTIAL

February

The Cranedale trip involves a two-day residential in North Yorkshire that prepares students for the practical element of their AS/ A-Level Geography.

We spend one day in Dalby Forest investigating the water and carbon cycles and another day at Flamborough Head looking at coastal environments.

Students complete a range of practical techniques to collect primary data as well as how to complete an inquiry (similar to a university dissertation). Students who study the full A-level complete a 4,000 word independent investigation on a topic of their choice and this provides ideal preparation for this. Students completing the AS exam at the end of Year 12 will answer questions on the fieldwork completed.
