5. Personal Best in the Community
5.1
Ilkley Grammar School and its students are an important part of the Ilkley and surrounding area’s communities. We ask that our students specifically demonstrate the following behaviour when in the community, including when travelling to and from school or when out on trips or visits.
- When students are in the community, they represent not only themselves, but also the Ilkley Grammar School community
- When they are in the community, students should demonstrate their Personal Best, be aware of how they are behaving, and how that may make others feel
5.2
Specific things to be considerate of are:
- Keeping the community litter free
- Swearing or abusive language
- Other pedestrians on paths and bridges
- Cars and traffic
- Helping someone in need (Public or another IGS student)
- Being respectful on trains and buses, including IGS buses
- Wearing the IGS uniform with Pride
- People in shops or local facilities
It is important that students understand that they still represent Ilkley when travelling to and from school and the school Relationships policy will still apply in these circumstances.
