7. Punctuality to School and Lessons
Being on time to school and lessons or form period/PBT is an important indicator of the Pride and aspiration that your child has towards their learning. It also demonstrates the Respect that they have for their fellow students, teachers, and wider staff.
7.1 We ask that:
- Should students arrive late to school, Key Stage 3 & 4 student will need to sign in at the new student entrance desk at the main entrance with an Assistant Head of Year
- Post-16 students who arrive between 8.25am and 9am also need to sign in with a member of the post-16 team at the main student entrance. After 9am, post-16 students should enter and leave school site via the new turnstile gate located at the top car park gate. Post 16 students should be wearing their lanyards upon entry to the school and wear them at all times.
- All students should arrive on time to all lessons and form time/PBT
- Late to school or form period/PBT for non-genuine reasons will result in a sanction. X2 late to school or lesson each week will result in a lunchtime detention with the Hub. This is the same for 5 per half term.
- Truanting form time or lessons will result in a Reflection
- Students arriving more than 5 minutes after the start of the lesson will receive a late mark, and an Edulink behaviour point added by the class teacher. There may be genuine reasons for lateness which their teacher will take into consideration when appropriate.
7.2 What students can do to have exceptional punctuality:
- Be organised: Know their timetable, or have it printed or as a screen saver on their iPad
- Show Courage by not following friends who make the wrong decision to arrive late to school or lessons
